Belonging Matters
Remember that time in high school or college when you had your crew. Your crew was the people you connected with who had some of the same beliefs as you. You guys probably went out together and spent most of your time doing something you loved. You felt like you belonged to something.
For me, it was my football team. These guys were my brothers!
We went to parties together. We slept over at each other’s houses. Their parents pretty much adopted me because they had to buy more food and account for me always being at all of the vacations.
I felt excited to wake up and hang with these guys. We all believed in the same thing. We clicked! This was my crew and the people I wanted to be with.
But things changed the older I got.
After we graduated from school, our lives took different paths. We no longer had something to bring everyone together for.
We slowly lost the sense of team and I lost the sense of belonging to something.
And this is what has probably happened to you. As adults, we stop having fun and we are in constant search for something to belong to.
We all want to feel special and be a part of something remarkable.
We want to be heard and feel important.
We want to be a part of the team.
Having a team brings just a little more purpose to your life. Being immersed with people who believe what you believe and do what you do is life changing. Because it truly changes your life and the way you show up for it.
Our values and the people we have around are what defines us.
So if you haven’t found your crew yet and you want to be a part of an amazing group of people who believe in integrity, kindness, gratitude, self-growth, fun, and positivity, you have a friend here.
You have a team here :)
